Ronald Tolman

At the age of eight, for the first time in his life, Ronald Tolman lay his eyes on a sperm whale. He encountered this amazing animal in an unusual context: an Amsterdam railway yard. The colossus, carefully dressed, was transferred to a sequence of railway carriages to tour the country for people to watch and study - to everybody's astonishment.
